The SDLP was devised by the course team in 2007 to reflect the complexities and requirements of practitioners.
All of the taught components of the course are detailed on the SDLP. As part of the work based learning delegates are required to indicate what they have done to develop their knowledge and skills in these areas in order to become independent practitioners in the field of dysphagia.
In addition there are aspects of knowledge and skills that are beyond the remit of the course. The SDLP alerts delegates to additional areas that they may need to be aware of depending upon their service.
